Jara

My photo
J.Art
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
I'm Jara Gillick-Lewis and i create work with a visceral nature. I use materials such as ink, water, walls, large paper, photography, face paint, mannequins, inanimate objects and egg shells. I feel connected to the environment when i work with elements such as water, light and alchemy. My art contains an earthy flamboyance often disguised in synthetic colour and costume. I am attempting to translate the implicit and dynamic relationship we have with nature and our urban culture of which impinges heavily on the order of life.
